The East End gallery has been added at the bottom of the page. There are currently 12 photos in the gallery.
Also, ten photos were added to the Downtown gallery. However, eight were moved from the Downtown gallery to create a Fountain Square gallery (8 photos in all), and two photos of Great American Ball Park were moved to the Landmarks gallery. So there are still 34 photos in the Downtown gallery.

Behind the scenes, 2/21/07
One of the neat things about having a blog is taking a look at who's been reading it.
I use a program called StatCounter that breaks down all kinds of stats for me, including the countries from which clicks into or on my blog originate.
So far, I have the following, in no particular order:
United States (97% of users), Canada, China, Argentina, the Netherlands, Kuwait, Singapore, Denmark, Japan and Sweden.
I have no doubt that a few of these could be bots, spiders, etc. Still, it's interesting to think of what some cat in Argentina thinks when he's viewing this blog.

Madisonville: Sonoma Hill
The subdivision looks largely built out.
All I can say is that this is bland, so very bland. It's a completely uninspiring non-place.
The only positive about it is that it's new housing inside of the city limits. And they seem to be selling even in the mid $200's, so there seems to be a market for this type of development within the City.
Here are some pics I got the other day.
I just love the seamless transition between foundation and siding!
City of Cincinnati: GET TO WORK!!!
This is one of my favorite stretches of street in the city, the 800 block of Lincoln Ave in Walnut Hills.
These red brick houses were built in the 1880s and 1890s.
Some are in decent shape and appear to have tenants, while many are vacant. The vacant ones are the ones owned by the City of Cincinnati -- specifically, 842, 844 and 846 Lincoln.
While it appears that there is work going on, I've never seen anyone on site and I haven't noticed any progress at all. The sad thing is that the City is in violation of its own VBML code. 842 Lincoln even has open windows with jagged, broken glass.
These could be neat little houses if someone, besides the City, took the time to fix them up.

Over-the-Rhine: Model Management action
Model Management is currently rehabbing 1528 Pleasant St. I can't find a good photo of it, but it's a turn-of-the-century brick multi-family.
They've also started on 1537 Pleasant St. The plan is by Wichman Gunther Architects and I believe there will be three apartment units.
They are working on 1714 Republic St/1713 Vine St as well. This is a former Downtown Property Management property that needs a lot of work.
1700 and 1706 Logan St are also seeing work.
(1700 and 1706 Logan)
None of these buildings were in condemnable shape. So this seems like a continuation of the effort Model is putting into keeping up its investments.
All of these rehabs are likely affordable rentals.

Thank you to Abandoned!
This blog has been listed on the links for Abandoned.
Abandoned lists the following as its mission statement:
"Abandoned's commitment to preserving the forgotten and the past, and to help save America's neglected treasures is our mission. Through writings and photographs, Abandoned strives to be a centralised web-site recording these neglected treasures."
This is a very interesting site which includes a lot of Cincinnati-area content. Check it out:

Queensgate: 801 W Sixth St
Just an update:
The building complex, aka the Hudepohl Brewery, was condemned in early January. This is mainly because it is still in a state of collapse and bricks are falling everywhere, and demolition seems to have stalled. The wrecking permit has expired.
The owners, Hudepohl Square, LLC, were given orders allowing 30 days to remedy the situation, or to demolish the rest of the building, which they have not done.
It's entirely possible that this will move to a civil fine stage. Or, if deemed dangerous enough, it could be the subject of a public hearing and the City may eventually decide to demolish the structure itself.
I'll try to get some photos posted soon.

Sycamore Twp: Kenwood Crossing Phase II and III
Neyer Properties is seeking a major adjustment to the PUD zoning plan for its Kenwood Crossing plan, NW of the intersection of Galbraith and Kenwood roads.
Phases II and III would consist of two new office buildings, one of 31,600 SF and the other at 40,000 SF.
Pine Road would be extended and renamed Kenwood Crossing Way. (Township trustees do not appear to be behind this move.)
This will appear before the Sycamore Township Zoning Commission on February 12.

New sidewalks will be incorporated in the development as well as along Corbin St.
The subdivision plan has been approved by all City departments and will happen. I'm unaware of when groundbreaking will occur.
