Cincinnati City Council has filed and approved a staff report that will release permits for the removal of gaslights on Kirkup Avenue in Kennedy Heights.
Twenty-eight of the street's residents petitioned the City to have the lights removed and replaced with brighter electrical lighting.
An option to supplement the historic gaslights with the new lighting was not pursued.

Removing gas lights is a very short-sighted decision. Shame on you Kirkup Avenue!
