Died: March 2008
Cause of death: Taken down as part of the Incline Square project. The Price Hill Blog has several demolition photos.

What a beautifully proportioned old home! So sad to see it come down. I trust that it was necessary for the long term future of this so-called incline district, and not some hair brained short term fix that doesn’t lead to real change. Seems like it’d make more sense if the darn incline were indeed returned.

That was the Reese Price Mansion, one of the most historic (and most ignored) homes in Price Hill. Reese put up the money for the incline in 1874. If we can't turn this trend of demolition around there won't be anything historic left in Price Hill. That would have made a great restaurant or inn for the new project. Damn shame.

I just heard about the history of the house the other day, and I was totally unaware. Where was the Price Hill Historical Society?
