CAGIS releases new interactive website

The Cincinnati Area GIS Consortium (CAGIS) has released its latest mapping website, an interactive experience that's free for use by the public.

In addition to the standard property locator and mapping functions available in map products from and Bing, the new website provides property, zoning, and land development information for each parcel in Hamilton County.

Aerial photography from 1996 to 2007 is also available, allowing users to examine a community's changes over time. Additional data layers include bus routes, topographical maps, school districts, voter precincts, and user drawing and measurement tools.

The new and improved interface took only a couple of months to develop, but the data pieces behind it are the result of almost two decades of cumulative efforts by CAGIS staff.

"We designed this website to provide a wealth of geographic information and local history to the general public or anyone interested in knowing more about Cincinnati and Hamilton County," says Shaoli Huang of CAGIS. "To continue to improve the website, user feedback is important to us."

First developed in 1995, CAGIS is the result of a contractual agreement between the City of Cincinnati, Hamilton County, and Cincinnati Gas and Electric (now Duke Energy).

If only the identify function worked right now. Instead I still have to go to Trusty Dusty's site. I'm sure it will be fixed soon tho...

You can get all of the property information using the "Open Property Report" button, then clicking on the parcel. I think it's the icon shaped like a house.

With the "Property" overlay, you can see the names of the plats or whatever - the names of the different sections of ownership/development.
I live in the John Robinson est(ate ?)
Kinda cool from a historical POV.

^ Yeah, those are the various subdivisions reigstered with the recorder's office. Much easier than trying to use their site or trying to piece it together through the auditor's.
