Planning for the community learning center at Rothenberg School continued last Thursday, with a meeting with project partners and two of its project committees.
With the renovated school projected to open in the fall of 2011, the design committee has put together an aggressive schedule for completing the design.
Recently, Cincinnati Public Schools announced that Rothenberg will be renovated to support 550 students, meaning that more funding could be available for art, music, and other programs.
The vision and cirriculum committee says that response quality to their community survey has been good.
The survey is part of a process is to to gather neighborhood and community council representatives, school staff, Rothenberg partners, parents and students to decide what types of programs should be offered in the newly-renovated school.
Survey answers will be taken into consideration during the building design process.
The survey, which is mostly being handled by Over-the-Rhine Education in Public Schools and the Peaslee Neighborhood Center, can still be picked up either at the school or at Peaslee.
Another push for completed surveys will be made tonight at Rothenberg's Lasagna Night for Parents.
The next meeting of the vision and cirriculum committee is May 15 at 3 PM. The next design committee meetings are scheduled for May 6 and May 20 at 2:30 PM.
All meetings are at Rothenberg School, (BIRD'S EYE) in Over-the-Rhine.
