- The second phase of Northside's Rockford Woods subdivision was named as the site of CiTiRAMA 2009, but many area residents didn't want to see it developed.

Windows and cladding were being added to the Baldwin 300 office building, the hotel was getting started, and the parking structure was largely completed.
- One of the last remaining mixed-use buildings in South Cumminsville was razed after a buyer couldn't be found and the weather had taken its toll.
