• The Hamilton County Regional Planning Commission's 2007 Annual Report measured the county's progress against the core benchmarks of its comprehensive plan.
• Following a fire that caused $50,000 in damage, a Sayler Park house was razed.

One year ago:

• Following a public hearing, residents and property owners on Mount Auburn's Walker Street moved one step closer to having the City front money for a retaining wall that would keep their hillside from slipping away.
• Installation of Procter & Gamble's Flower Carpet began on Fountain Square.
• Cincinnati City Council was considering the creation of a capital improvement program project account for streetscape improvements along Short Vine and Highland Avenue in Corryville.
• A motion proposed by Cincinnati City Councilmembers Roxanne Qualls and Cecil Thomas to give special attention to Auburn Avenue was adopted.
• Cincinnati Habitat for Humanity kicked off the construction of two houses in Avondale and dedicated a completed one in Price Hill.
• The Mount Adams Neighborhood Strategic Plan was recommended by the Cincinnati City Planning Commission.
• Also in Mount Adams, a building at the corner of Hatch and Belvedere streets was razed.
